We will be releasing our meeting details shortly.
1. Membership
Adult Membership is open to any individual aged 18 or older who shares the organization's commitment to improving the Ridgefield community and agrees to abide by The Ridgefield Ripple’s Code of Ethics. Teen Membership is open to high school students 14 years of age and up, who also share the organization’s commitment, and who, along with a parent and/or legal guardian, agree to the membership terms. All Members are expected to actively support The Ripple’s mission through volunteerism, advocacy, and community engagement.
2. Dues and Standing
In order to participate in Member activities of The Ridgefield Ripple, a Member must remain a member in "Good Standing." Good Standing means the Member has initially signed a Membership Agreement form, a Release and Waiver of Liability form, paid their initial annual membership fee, and thereafter pays annual dues due on May 1 of each year, and abides by The Ridgefield Ripple’s Code of Ethics.
3. Code of Ethics
All Members are expected to act as ambassadors for The Ridgefield Ripple. This includes:
Lawful Conduct: Members must abide by all local, state, and federal laws during organization-sanctioned events and in their private lives where such actions may reflect upon The Ridgefield Ripple and its Members.
Moral Character: Members are expected to interact with fellow Members and all others with integrity, respect, and honesty. Negative or unbecoming behaviors -- whether in person, via electronic or other sorts of communication, or on social media -- such as personal attacks, violence or threats of violence, of any sort are grounds that may lead to termination of Membership. Parents and legal guardians of Teen Members are similarly expected to demonstrate the moral character expected of The Ridgefield Ripple’s Members.
Non-Discrimination: The Ridgefield Ripple maintains a zero-tolerance policy for harassment or discrimination or attempted harassment or discrimination, based on race, religion, gender, orientation, personal attributes, disability, familial status, or political affiliation.
In short, please behave like the person your dog thinks you are -- a kind individual who isn’t a jerk. Somebody that everybody is excited to see, or at least doesn’t cringe to see. People will appreciate, enjoy, and celebrate your presence and the uniqueness you bring to our organization. And it eliminates drama or the need for an uncomfortable conversation no one really wants to have.
4. Personal Profit
The Ridgefield Ripple is a fully volunteer, non-profit corporation. No Member shall receive compensation or payment, directly or indirectly, in connection with activities with the organization, except that a Member who sells products or provides services through their business or their association with a business, is permitted to receive payment for said products or services with valid documentation of the sale of the same.
While The Ridgefield Ripple understands that community involvement and Membership visibility can result in professional relationship building, active soliciting at The Ridgefield Ripple events or in connection its activities is prohibited.
Political campaigning of any sort is forbidden.
5. Revocation of Membership
The Ridgefield Ripple reserves the absolute right, in its sole discretion, to deny or terminate membership to protect the safety and integrity of the organization. In the event of termination of membership, no dues will be refunded.
